Beginning with the End in Mind
Building a business is no small task. The beginning of the journey can be painfully lonely. The temptation to go back to what you know, to do the easier but less meaningful work, to take on a misaligned client, to earn the quick dollar, to ship mediocre work never leaves you.
This is why we create visions, for our businesses and for our lives. Because the slow fade back to old habits, old ideas and old self is the stuff mediocrity is made of. And you, my friend, were born for something great. Not necessarily something which will garner significant attention. We have to quit believing that lie. But something meaningful and significant. Your purpose matters. And you are the only one who can find it and fulfill it.
And walking with you down that path is what sets our hearts on fire over here at Trade Last. It’s why we are in the middle of this building season. Saying hard no’s and correcting misplaced yes’s. Because we believe in you.
Parker Palmer says it this way in his magnificent book, Let Your Life Speak:
It takes time and hard experience to sense the difference between the two (the ego and the true self) - to sense that running beneath the surface of the experience I call my life, there is a deeper and truer life waiting to be acknowledged.
We are here to walk with you towards your true self, to help you pay attention to what is running beneath the surface of your life, to practice going to that deep deep place so you can experience meaningful success.
You get one life. But you can start over, shift, adjust, move, change, evolve, grow, move the needle each or turn the page on any given day. Today could be your day. And we’d love to navigate the road ahead with you.

Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, in one moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?
